Greetings! I am Prateik, a versatile artisan who skillfully navigates between the realms of creativity. By day, I am a passionate independent artist, and by night, I am a dedicated freelancer, weaving intricate tales through my artwork. My canvas knows no bounds, as I breathe life into characters, craft enchanting backgrounds, and orchestrate themes that awaken the soul.
In my world, art isn't just a vocation; it's a vivid exploration of memory. I conjure dreamlike shapes and infuse them with a kaleidoscope of colors, each stroke resonating with the essence of nostalgia and longing. My creations are whispers of the past and dreams of the future, a symphony of emotions etched onto a visual tapestry.

Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur | 8 February 2026
(a day that stayed with me)
I went to Deekshabhoomi with Urban Sketchers Nagpur.. not really with a plan, just a sketchbook and some curiosity.. the place felt different the moment i entered.. wide open spaces.. the structure standing quietly at the centre and people moving slowly around it..
We sat on the right side, close to the tree, and opened my sketchbook.. what caught my attention first were the branches stretching wide above the space.. almost like a natural canopy watching over the monument.. beneath it.. the symmetrical steps and the fountain formed a calm centre, while the two lamp posts stood quietly on either side..
From that corner.. the whole scene felt balanced.. the strong geometry of the structure below and the flowing lines of the tree above..
I didn’t try to control the drawing too much.. just let the lines respond to what i saw.. the tiled ground leading inward.. the quiet fountain at the centre and the branches spreading across the sky almost like a frame for the moment.
Sometimes urban sketching is not about capturing every detail.. it’s about sitting still long enough for a place to slowly reveal its rhythm.
That afternoon at Deekshabhoomi felt exactly like that..

Chitaroli, Nagpur | 27 July 2025
( a little late, but not forgotten.)
I found myself walking through Chitaroli.. a place where devotion is not silent..it is being shaped by hand. This lane is known for its idol makers, especially in the months leading up to Ganesh Chaturthi.. here, faith doesn’t arrive ready made. It begins as clay, as structure, as touch..
I didn’t go there searching for a perfect composition.. only curiosity.. Inside one of the workshops, rows of unfinished Ganeshas stood quietly some waiting for colour, some still raw, some half covered in white base coats. It felt strange and beautiful at the same time.. to see the divine in stages..
The air carried the smell of wet clay and plaster. There was dust on the floor, tools scattered around, and quiet concentration on the artisan’s face.. outside, the world moved as usual. Inside, gods were being made..
I opened my sketchbook without overthinking.. the space was tight, the light uneven, people moving in and out.. so I stopped trying to control the scene… and let the lines respond to what I felt.. the curves of the trunk, the posture, the calm expression.. against a background of frames and unfinished forms..
It’s been months since that day.. the festival has come and gone. Those idols have found homes, been worshipped, and immersed but this page stayed with me.. quietly waiting in my sketchbook..
Maybe some moments aren't meant to be posted immediately.. maybe they need time to settle.. just like clay before it takes shape..
Today, I’m finally sharing it.

Saraf Chambers | july 13th 2025.
A building that has been part of the city’s daily view for decades, once one of its tallest and most talked about structures. built in the 1950s and known for being one of the first private buildings in central india to have an elevator, it has seen time change around it..
When i got there, the street was full of movement traffic weaving through, pedestrians stepping past shops, the city hard at work but the building itself felt calm, observing rather than reacting.. below, on the ground floor, a Pantaloons store runs now, a sign of how the space has changed from old offices and residences to new retail life.
I opened my sketchbook, set my ink down, and just looked. ink slows me down makes me sit with the vertical lines, the weathered facade, the signage below, the way the old bones of the structure meet modern commerce. the cloud form around it came without force, as if the building needed room to breathe in a busy street..
by the time i finished, it felt like quiet had slowly grown inside me, just that calm you get from truly seeing a place, even in the middle of everything that moves around it..

Anandashram Bhojnalaya, Nagpur | 04 January 2026
i reached a little too late.. by the time i arrived, the rush was over, building was quiet, i didn’t step in.. i just stayed outside for a while.. from there, i noticed the building settling into itself.. the stillness.. the calm.. so i drew only what i could see from where i stood.. just the place, waiting..
Later, looking at the page, it felt like i had captured
a moment that almost happened..

Netaji Market, Nagpur | 2 November 2025
I found myself walking through Netaji Market in sitabuldi, nagpur. this market is more than just rows of shops.. it’s one of the city’s lively commercial hubs known especially for its flower sections, where farmers, vendors, and buyers meet every day in a burst of colour and scent.. here, thousands of flowers from marigolds to roses arrive, are traded and carried off for weddings, festivals, and daily rituals.. the flower trade here is so big that every day tons of blooms come from across the region...
I didn’t come with a plan only curiosity.. stepping in, the first thing that hit me was the energy.. sharp colours of garlands, the chatter of sellers, the chaos of carts and people, and that mix of strong fragrance and dust it felt alive and imperfect.. this wasn’t the calm market i once imagined; it was vibrant, restless, occasionally overwhelming, and entirely authentic..
I set up my A5 sketchbook right where i stood, ink and paper ready.. the market didn’t slow down for me.. people kept moving, life kept happening.. so i learned to slow myself instead.. ink lines followed the flow of activity: the curve of flower heaps, the silhouette of a handcart, the blurred motion of buyers pacing past stalls.. each stroke was an attempt to hold a moment of movement on a still page..
While i sketch, i felt a strange clarity.. like listening to a rhythm i didn’t create but could follow.. every sound, push, and laugh became part of the composition on that small sheet.. when i finally set my pen down, there was a quiet satisfaction in capturing not just a place, but a feeling.. a snapshot of life’s layered pulse...

महाराष्ट्र बांबू डेव्हलपमेंट बोर्ड / Maharashtra Bamboo Development Board, Nagpur | 21 September 2025
it was my first time visiting the Maharashtra Bamboo Development Board.. i went there as part of an Urban Sketchers meetup, but personally, i carried no expectations with me.. i didn’t look anything up, didn’t imagine how it would be i just showed up..
The moment i entered, the place felt quiet in a comforting way.. not empty, just calm.. bamboo structures standing patiently, woven forms, narrow pathways, and that raw smell of earth and wood. nothing here tried to impress. everything simply existed, grounded and honest.
i’m genuinely grateful to the Urban Sketchers group for organising this sketch walk at such a beautiful location.. we were together, yet everyone was lost in their own silence observing, sketching, breathing at their own pace..
What stayed with me were the lines. bamboo repeating itself, arches, joints, textures shaped by human hands but guided by nature. bamboo bending without breaking.. light filtering through leaves.. long pauses of silence, broken only by wind or distant movement.. it felt calm, almost meditative..
When i started sketching, time slowed down. ink always does that. every line mattered no undo, no rushing. on this small a5 page, i tried to capture not just what i saw, but how the place felt: structured yet organic, humble yet intentional.. when i finished, there was a quiet satisfaction like leaving a small part of myself on the paper, and carrying a small part of the place back with me..
